Posted: 3 Jul 2003 - Our little boy is doing great, and he's been cleared for travel!  The doctors had recommended that we not take him out much due to his previous health problems, but that order has been lifted.  He even made his first big trip to the grandparents in WV this past weekend.  He's also starting to sleep longer at night, and believe me, EVERYONE is happy about that!  He's growing fast (over 13 lbs already) and starting to smile a lot and make lots of noises.  I swear the other day he said "Angry fishes love cash."  Most kids start with "ma-ma" or "da-da:"  I guess our boy is just a prodigy (except for the cash part:  I think they prefer credit).

Posted: 5 Jun 2003 - On April 15th, 2003 at 2:02 AM, Michael Scott Safko II was born. At birth, he weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 19 & 1/2 inches long.  Unfortunately he had some respiratory problems and was transferred to Children's Hospital for 17 days.  Thanks to the absolutely incredible staff in the NICU there he finally made it home.
